Butler county 1974 hunting fishing and trapping license sales rose to 329 543 with 5946 total licenses issued up from 5523 in 1973. Resident hunting non resident hunting and trout stamps declined while fishing and combination licenses increased with bow and arrow deer licenses issued for the first time. State duck stamps rose to 844.

Reception honors Ronald Ascher at United Church of Christ
A reception honoring M&M Ronald Ascher was hosted by relatives at the United Church of Christ in rural Nashua with 44 guests from Iowa Falls Wellsburg Riceville Nashua Clarksville and Greene. Volunteers served coffee and punch in green and white decor.
