A revealing hour long IEEN documentary titled THE OTHERS screens countywide on January 22 at 9 p.m. in Sioux City Des Moines Iowa City and Mason City. The film by John Beyer and Ron Burnell surveys Iowa's housing for the retarded and severely handicapped, examining government and private advocacy groups and societal attitudes. It follows an Ames family placing their 12 year old daughter in Forest City’s Winnebago Handicapped Services, with progress seen at six and nine month checks. Greene City Council Conducts January Meeting Minutes
The Greene City Council met January 6 with Mayor Arthur Weiss and six council members present along with Woman's Club representatives. They approved minutes, discussed diseased trees in the parking area and a replanting drive, approved water and sewer analyses, and planned a budget review for 1975-76.
