Butler County opens new county courthouse with tour
A public open house Sunday will showcase the new Butler County Courthouse in Allison. The building features electric heating, air conditioning, solar bronze glass, and accessible offices for the Recorder, Assessor, Treasurer, and Auditor. Total project cost runs about 24.52 per square foot with bids from Cervetti-Weber and Associates, Ramker Construction, L. A. Fulton & Sons, Maulsby Electric, and vendors Riley's Inc Bart Ferris Nursery.

The gospel trio Dean, Carole, and Joyce perform Thursday at United Methodist Keene. They have hosted hundreds of gospel concerts in over 25 denominations across the United States and Ontario Canada. Carole plays piano and arranges, Joyce sings and plays bass, while Dean formerly a radio DJ brings experience.

Services for Craig Fishel, 35, of Humboldt and former Allison resident, who died from injuries in an industrial accident at work in Humboldt, were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt and the United Church of Christ in Allison with burial in Allison Cemetery. Survived by wife Robin Boiler of Greene, a son Clint, daughters Alyson and Rechele, at home, parents M and M Charles Fisher of Allison, brother Michael of Allison, and grandparents M and M Henry Roelf of Allison.

Funeral services for Dorothy M. Mehlan 57 of Greene were held at the United Methodist Church with burial in Rose Hill cemetery. Rev. M M Frevert officiated. Reid's Funeral Chapel handled arrangements. She was born July 8 1918 in Clarksville and died December 3 1975 in Mason City Memorial Hospital. Survivors include son Ward and daughters Judith Swanson and Jane Mehlan, plus a brother Ralph Mather.
