Greene City Council met August 18 1975 with Mayor Arthur Weiss and four councilmen present to hear residents on curbside trash charges. The body voted to amend Ordinance 261 setting collection at 3.60 per month for one bag or one pickup weekly, citing higher landfill and gas costs. Minutes show unanimous aye votes and adjournment attended by several residents and officials.
Iowa Butler County probate notice states Ida Darby died. her will admitted Aug 15 1975 and Marjorie Miller and Dorothy Stohr named executors. Creditors urged to file claims within six months from second publication and seek prompt payment. Also includes appointment of Harold Dale Teeters as executor for another estate with the 1959 will admitted to probate.
Butler County Iowa board minutes dated August 16 1975 record meeting at 9:00 am. Items include semi annual settlement with treasurer and sale proceeds for county home real estate and goods. Salary schedule for juvenile probation officers set. Settlement offer approved to dismiss case for 18745 and payment of 18700 warrants authorized. Several claims categorized as poor fund home, county attorney, zoning and other departments approved. Meeting adjourned to September 2 1975.
The Butler County Farm Bureau invites Iowa Farm Bureau members to enter the RAVE contest at the annual meeting on Sept 23.eligibility rules require group size, amateur status, and county entry limits. Acts include vocal, instrumental, skits, and dancing with standards for member participation.
The Butler County Farm Bureau has mailed opinionaires to all members. The Resolutions committee chose about a dozen issues for the opinionnaire covering county state and national topics. Members are urged to participate to help shape policy and return by Sept. 1 with time limits noted for each act.
