Missionary Work in East Africa Seeks Roofs and Schools
Fr. Breen describes a Kenyan highland parish where aid funds purchase iron roof sheets to prevent fire and leaks, while families save over five years. The government now runs schools, tuition exists for older students, and a village polytechnic, adult literacy, and health services are under development. Africanization aims to replace expatriates in jobs, with a focus on agriculture, dairying, and cooperative marketing.
