Emigrant travel heavy on western roads. official spring begins Saturday.
Obituary notes Mrs Elizabeth Hammond widow of John Hammond died at 3 30 am March 17 1886 born Elizabeth Ann Mahan July 22 1815 in Fleming County Kentucky survived by six children two brothers and two daughters funeral at 3 pm from John Irvin’s residence with Dr J H Cisse officiating.
Auction notice states the sale of furniture and fixtures at the Walnut Street House will occur at the house on Saturday March 20. Bidders will inspect items on the day of sale. Proceeds to be used as directed by the owners.
Rev. Mr. Russell of DePauw succeeds J O Bills as pastor at South Greencastle M E church. He preached his first sermon last Sunday night.
