Dream of Ambition and the Nameless Grave

Rev Hurlstone spoke on fraternity points and refreshments were served by Merriweather in Sigma Chi hall.

Fire at Albert Allen's drug store quickly controlled

A morning blaze caused by spilled turpentine threatened serious damage at Albert Allen's drug store but was extinguished by staff. Smoke damaged woodwork and stock. Mr Allen suffered slight burns. The report also notes gifts to Mr Poultney Bigelow and details a lecture plan by Bishop Bowman and others, plus advertising copy for The Southwestern Limited train service.

Artist’s recital at Meharry hall May twelfth

The School of Music of W. H. Sherwood will present an Artist’s recital in Meharry hall around May 12. Frederick Vinal, a noted tenor, has been engaged to sing high parts in Joan of Arc, with Sherwood’s daughter studying under Professor Howe.
