The I P C and A Z P teams meet Sunday afternoon at Zinc Mill diamond in a decisive third game. Both squads won once earlier with rain-softened grounds meant to aid fast play. Last season’s first game went to Limedale 9 3, followed by a 5 1 Zinc Mill win as cement makers reinforce their lineup.
More than thirty women met at Mrs Ida Pierce's home for College Ave M E School session. Mrs G B Myers led opening exercises and Mrs J P D John read a Jerusalem paper. Officers elected: President Mrs Charles F Zeis, Vice President Mrs J G Dunbar, Secretary Mrs William K Parrish, Treasurer Mrs William Wetz, Devotional Chair Mrs Ida Pierce, Social Chair Mrs John Gray, Membership Chair Mrs J W Carver. Light refreshments followed.
Rev John L Lyons of Peking China will speak at the Presbyterian Church Monday at 7 30 pm. The public is cordially invited to attend.
The College Avenue M. E. Church Woman's Bible Class outlines its 1921 22 year program with monthly meetings. Devotional exercises, papers on Saul the Pharisee Damascus Antioch St Paul early Christian church and other topics are scheduled alongside hostesses and conversations led by named members.
The College Ave M E Church invites all members and city strangers to Sunday services welcoming hundreds of new University of DePauw students. The program features a new quartet, pastor sermons, and multiple services. The DePauw ROTC unit enrollment reaches 332 with two new officers Frazer and Shrigley. a daughter Mary Irleen was born to Mr and Mrs George York.
Fatty Arbuckle faces murder charges in the Virginia Rappe death after a Labor Day party at his San Francisco hotel. District Attorney Brady announces readiness to proceed, with manslaughter dropped if murder is upheld. Investigators seek Dr. Beardslee for grand jury testimony as prosecutors plan a costly nationwide evidence hunt.
The Indiana Conference of the M. E. Church holds its ninetieth session in Connersville with Bishop Hughes praised for leadership. Notables from DePauw and Boston University attend as the W. F. M. S. reports a record year and plans to raise 1 million for DePauw Endowment. The Grencastle Orphanage gains stronger support as the Carlisle proposal falls through. Conference adjourns Monday morning.
University service to be held in Meharry Hall at 3 15 Sunday September 18 with President George R Grose preaching and the University choir singing.

Clara E. Matthews transfers two lots in Greencastle to Kate and Henry Person for 800 dollars. Albert C. Grimes transfers property to John Grimes in Russell township for 50 dollars.
Gregory Aubuchon an 18 year old tourist from Michigantown Indiana was found dead in Rocky Mountain National Park Colorado near Longs Peak. Forest rangers located the body after snow melted revealing the grave the youth had apparently fallen from the 2800 foot cliff while attempting to reach the peak. His parents had toured the park with him in late July and he left Estes Park to climb Longs Peak.
Prof. L. E. Mitchell reports total DePauw enrollment in the liberal arts at 1,082 with 459 freshmen. MeshMan class shows 258 men and 201 women, a notable ratio. Music school near 160 students, total enrollment around 1,200, surpassing all previous records. The freshman class is the largest in the university’s history.
Daniel Nestor and his wife failed to appear in court on the return date after a war rant charged Vaughan with pointing a revolver. Nestor later withdrew the affidavit, and the case was rescheduled. Vaughan fined Nestor ten dollars and costs for failing to obey the summons.
Rev. H. C. Clippinger and Mr. J. McAnnally announce Sunday services at Locust Street M E Church. Sunday School at 9 30 am preaching at 10 30 am by Prof J L Bey Epworth League at 6 30 pm no evening service. Pastor attends conference and welcomes students and visitors.
James P. Goodrich former Indiana governor sails on the Kroonland headed to London and Moscow to join Colonel William N. Haskell in the American relief administration mission. He plans to visit famine areas in southern Russia and stay as long as aid is needed. Mrs. Goodrich to winter in Italy.
In a Greencastle courtroom Judge Hughes exposes Marcus Bass as the man behind a liquor transport scheme. Bass pretended to be the father of the arrested man to dodge responsibility while William Gibbs took the blame and faced state ownership of the auto.
