McFerran Reunion Held At Home Near New Mays
The first McFerran reunion occurred September 7 1924 at Charles and Mrs McFerran home, about one and a half miles southwest of New Mays. Around sixty attendees reconnected, shared a noon dinner under trees, and a group photo captured children born that night plus relatives Henry Lewis James ESPer McFerran and Mary Louise among them. Mr Armstrong of Roach joined the gathering to document the event.

Prohibition Raider Seizes 136 Pints At Farmer Residence
Federal officers and sheriff deputies served a search warrant at the Scott farm near the Clay county line and arrested William Smith 35 of Washington township. They confiscated 136 pint bottles of liquor claimed as beer and a five gallon tin can. Smith said the beer was for personal use and could not provide a written record of procedures. He recently moved into an old log cabin on Labor Day and is married with a family.

Green Castle Men Carried Big Insurance

Auto Thieves to Be Tried in Federal Court
William Bright and Forrest Bright aged 16 and 17, alleged to have stolen the F. C. Tilden automobile, were turned over to federal authorities and taken to Indianapolis to face interstate traffic in stolen autos charges before Judge A. B. Anderson. They were arrested in Urbana, Illinois in possession of the car stolen from in front of the university library. Relatives in Anderson have not communicated with authorities.

Man Fined for Intoxication After Plea in St Louis Case
Ammerman of St Louis pleaded guilty to intoxication charged by State Highway officer A R Carmichael. He was fined $6 and costs by Justice Robert Newgent after noon Tuesday. Ammerman was arrested on the National Road south of Greenscastle Tuesday.

Funeral services for explosion victims held in Indiana
Funeral services were held for William MM. Price of Greencastle area and Earl Mathews, both victims of the Indiana Portland Cement plant explosion. Price was buried at Brick Chapel cemetery after services at Brick Chapel led by Rev. Henry Ashly. Mathews will be buried at New Providence cemetery following services at New Providence Church. A third death, Mrs. James Knight, 81, occurred Tuesday at the home of her daughter in Putnamville after a brief illness.
