Rockville Man Killed Resisting Arrest in Indictment Night
Grover Jones, 28, was shot and killed in Rockville after he tried to shoot Sheriff Edward R. Nichols. The sheriff was wounded but to recover, town marshal Joseph Boardman fired as Jones fled. Jones’s body found along railroad tracks with a bullet wound from behind. Jones had a warrant and had telephoned he would surrender. prior night several stores were robbed and he was accused.
