Tipton High School edged Greencastle 22 to 15 as visitors relied on a short passing game. Masten for Greencastle struggled from the line with 3 fouls in ten chances, while Tipton improved in the second half with solid teamwork and a determined comeback.
Forty four head of Short Horn cattle sold Friday afternoon at the Hrethers Livery barn by the Greencastle District Shorthorn Breeders Association. Prices were low but stock was high quality and helps local feeding stock. A sale closing dinner will be held next Saturday at J B McCabe & Sons farm near Morton with Mr and Mrs McCabe. Top price was 360 dollars for a heifer. another heifer brought 300 dollars.
Stinesville defeated Cloverdale by forfeit after six minutes of play due to injuries and disputed officiating. The arena at Stinesville forced Cloverdale to contend with tight posts near the roof, blamed for early injuries. In a separate local game Putnamville lost 80 to 8 on Cloverdale’s home floor.
Vane Adams a well known social reformer has cancelled an engagement to deliver a lecture here on November. Her important work on a government committee in Washington makes it impossible for her to be present. She is nationally known for work at Hull House Chicago and the engagement was arranged by Toynbee DePauw. Whether a future date will be set was not announced.
Mrs Sarah A DeVore age 83 died Friday morning at her daughter Mrs Joe Lane’s home near Gosport. Funeral Sunday at 11 at Hudson Hill church with burial in Hudson Hill cemetery. Survived by six children: Emory G DeVore Cataract Nora Lane Gosport Cora Dorsett Clover dale Hattie Gorham Clover dale Joe Hamond Greencastle Maude Mueg Quincy.

At a farm sale near Muncie Indiana on November 18 a horse sold for 2.50 dollars and a few minutes later a hound dog brought 5 dollars. The report notes two low prices for livestock and hunting hounds.
Cora Genevieve Hinote of Putnam County and Charles Alden Wilcox of Bellville Indiana were united in marriage at 11 30 this morning in the Christian church parsonage by Rev Levi Marshall. The groom, an auto mechanic, and bride will reside in Bellville with brothers in law and sisters in law present.

Four Putnam county corn exhibits depart this morning for the International Corn Show in Chicago next week. The entries include ten ears white corn from Leo Hazlett of Madison township, plus additional white corn from Hazelett and a ten car display of white corn and a ten ear display of yellow corn by D L Norman and son. County agent expects ribbons for Putnam county corn.
In Seymour Indiana Pastor William Shaw 30 of Medora was crushed to death when a wagon ran off a slight incline and struck a tree two miles from his home. His four year old son survived, guiding searchers to the body after Shaw reportedly threw him to safety.
A district meeting in the interest of the Methodist Hospital will be held in Bloomington next Thursday. Rev. H C. Clippenger will attend this important meeting.

About 500 DePauw students and townspeople rode the special car along the T H I E traction line to Washington Park for the DePauw Wabash football game this afternoon. The crowd was joined by the DePauw Drum Corp and Band with more riders expected on later cars. Officials anticipate the largest turnout from the community for this game.

The trapping season for skunk raccoon fox and opossum opens in Indiana today running until February 2. Mink and muskrat season began November 1 and ends March 31.
