Lemb Nichols and two Brazilians driving west of Brazil on a concrete road opened throttle. The Ford ran off the shoulder, hit a culvert, hurled four times, and tele phone pole, tearing off all wheels. Miraculously, no one was hurt. The car lay demolished beside the road near Billtown. Brazil Times.
A wrecked Ford lay two days at the Staunton and National road after an crash that endangered three loved people. A White transfer truck hauled it to the city and later to Greencastle. The car belonged to J. P. Allen Jr of Greencastle and was driven by Lem Nichols of Greencastle. John Cox of Brazil was a passenger. The woman's name was unavailable.
A Cornstalk Valley revival meeting is held at Liberty by the Nazarenes of Green Castle. Ohn Applegate visits with Lester and Harold Storm. Forrest McNary and family travel to Lafayette to visit their son Harold. Elsie Hunter and Amy Buis attend Aid Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Love Eddie Buis and Green Castle family visit Harvey Buis and family. Hugh Hammond visits Melvin Ruark and family. Ethridge Buis and his wife drive to Indianapolis for the silver wedding anniversary of R. C. Glidewell. Van Buis and wife attend James Cox's birthday anniversary.
Vaughan led Seale Wabash to polishing finishes as Scarlet football aims for a big clash with Monon DePauw in Indianapolis next Saturday at Saab Park. A large turnout of fans and a tough practice highlighted the buildup.
The team prepares for a hard workout tomorrow afternoon before the final scrimmage of the week. Wednesday is the last practice day before Thursday and Friday skull sessions.
The third annual convention of the Indiana Federation of Farmer's Association opens in the Masonic temple in Indianapolis with more than 1,000 expected delegates from 92 local farmer organizations. Highlights include talks on cooperative marketing by C H Gustafen and speeches by Governor McCray and federation president John G Brown.
Indiana state highway commission will open bids December 14 to pave six remaining gaps on the National road in Indiana, completing paving from the Illinois line near Terre Haute to the Ohio line near Richmond. About 150 miles in state. total sections listed with mileages.

Chicago November 14. Timothy Big Tim Murphy and three co defendants after conviction for conspiracy in a 350000 Dearborn street mail theft receive a 30 day stay of execution from Federal Judge Samuel Alschuler. Murphy faces six years Leavenworth and 30000 fine with 60000 bond. Co defendants Vincenzo Cosmano Edward Guerin Paul Volanti receive shorter terms and bonds. Others await trial. Murphy shows little reaction saying the judge gave him everything in the book but he is not sore.
A Monday night at Locust Street M E Church featured strong interest in the evangelistic service. Evangelist Baker preached on The Gift of the Holy Spirit on Believers as Miss Mildred Long sang with Mrs. Glen Badger at the piano.
Services start at 7 50 tonight with a sermon by Mr Baker and a song service led by Rev Clippinger. Home meetings for Wednesday are at Mrs Hoover’s, Mrs Conner’s Crown Street at 10 00 and at Mrs Courtney’s with the Keystone Bible Class at 2 30.
DePauw football coach Fred M. Walker orders full scrimmage on muddy McKeenfield as injury worries mount. A special train will carry over 1,000 Tiger rooters to Indianapolis for the Wabash game next Saturday with Green castle delegations expected.
David M. Lay chief of detectives for the Kansas City Southern Railway Co visited Greencastle on Monday on professional business. Lay carried messages of regard to Greencastle friends of Mark Fulton a former Greencastle boy now working in the General offices of the Kansas City Southern.
The Greencastle Herald announces an Everybody Wins campaign with a 1075 Buick Touring car as a prize. Nominations for candidates are accepted at the Herald office until noon Thursday to appear in the next paper. Votes come from subscriptions and active supporters, with a rapid shrinking vote schedule to ensure fairness.
