Cigarette Heist: 80000 Smokes Stolen From Trembly Williams
An organized gang is blamed for stealing between 70000 and 80000 cigarettes from Trembly Williams wholesale house on North Jackson Street. The thieves broke a rear door glass, unlocked the door, and accessed the stock while leaving all other items undisturbed. The back door was shielded by a box car at Monon Station, suggesting prior planning and knowledge of the premises. A similar Bloomingon theft is cited as evidence of an organized gang.
