Putnam County Board Eyes Countywide Review of Personal Property
The Putnam County Board of Review began June 1 and will finish around June 20 examining objections to assessments. It clarifies it has no say over real estate values, which remain from 1929, and will tour the county to verify personal property assessments, correcting double assessments, mistakes, and omissions. The board will present findings to the State Tax Board for ratification or adjustment. County Assessor Charles Marshall has submitted monthly reports with no formal response from the state, and officials say the process is progressing well.
