Arza Richards a 23 year old Green township farmer sentenced to ninety days for alleged tire theft was granted brief freedom by Judge Pence to wed Miss Mabel Pettigrew at the county clerk office. The ceremony preceded his departure to Pendleton to begin confinement in Putnam county.
General Pershing asked Secretary Baker for permission to retire from active duty within the next few months after the army reorganization bill. He said postwar duties would be lighter and he wished to pursue more active work.
A. G. Brown of the First National Bank, a golf novice, boasted after a club tournament where his 154 beat Neely O’Hair. A bank friend, ignorant of scoring, left convinced Brown was the best golfer in the club.

Elwood Indiana June 7 The Evening Post a Democratic daily paper published by Claude M Ogle and Joseph B O Neill suspended publication with the issue of Saturday due to a shortage of print paper The printing plant owned by D W Callahan of Urbana Ohio was leased four months ago by the publishers formerly Muncie newspaper men The paper was previously the Daily Record owned by A D Moffett and later sold to Callahan Mike Ogle a former Greencastle resident and Herald employee.

Greenfield Indiana businessman Max Smulyan has purchased Rothberg Brothers interests in the Rothberg Brothers Products Company. The business will operate as before under the Rothberg Brothers name with Smulyan in possession. the Rothbergs will stay in town for several weeks.

Clay County man Lewis LeMay charged with murdering farmer William Lawson will face a second trial this term after a hung jury in the first trial.
