Brazil Man Hurts Self Falling From Local Plant Scaffold

Eugene Dixson of Brazil working for the Indiana Portland Cement Company fell forty feet from a scaffold Tuesday afternoon. His knee joint tore open and the large bone in his right leg broke. He was taken to the County Hospital for treatment. Dr Davie Sluss of Indianapolis set the bones and said the injury may stiffen his leg.

Lost carrier pigeon found at O J Rector Sales Room

A carrier pigeon landed at the O J Rector Sales Room Wednesday morning and was fed and cared for. It bore a brass band marked IF- 2746-108 on its right leg and a nickel band on its left leg. A second pigeon with markings N-642 and A127B9897 was cared for by Mrs J H Michaels in Cloverdale. The birds may be two released at the local Big Four station last weekend for a flight back to Cleveland.

Dr Murlin to speak at Kiwanis meeting farewell

Dr L H Murlin of DePauw University will address the Kiwanis Club at the Presbyterian Church Thursday noon. This will be his last appearance before leaving the city. The program includes special musical numbers and important business items.

Presley R. Peek a 22 year old senior in Purdue University's School of Electrical Engineering from Greenville Kentucky died at Home Hospital at midnight from heart trouble. He was presented with his diploma before he died.

Judge Hughes Named Delegate at Democratic National Convention

Judge James P. Hughes of Green castle and Richard Wereneke of Terre Haute were elected delegates to the Democratic National convention in Houston by Fifth District delegates at the State House in Indianapolis. Alternate delegates chosen were John Carpenter of Brazil and Floyd Allen of Carbon.

Dailey Wins Indiana Democratic Gubernatorial Nomination

Indianapolis June 6 The Indiana Democratic State Convention nominated Frank C. Dailey for governor on the first ballot with 878 votes to 275 for Frederick. Monroe County cast its 12 votes for Dailey ensuring the nomination. The first ballot for lieutenant governor failed to nominate.
