Greencastle Man In.wreck Near Seelyville Sat Night

Gilbert Cale of Greencastle drove a Dodge Car into a deep ditch between Seelyville and Terre Haute after being blinded by an approaching car headlight. Cole was unhurt seriously with minor cuts and bruises. Another car failed to stop after the collision.

Mason Ruri en in Fillmore today

The funeral of George W. Mason was held at 3 p.m. today at the Fillmore Christian church. Rev. H. C. Clippinger officiated. Burial followed in Fillmore cemetery with Odd Fellows in charge. Mason died Saturday morning at his home near Commercial Place from heart trouble at age 47. He was a mail clerk on the Big Four Railroad and is survived by his widow and seven children plus two daughters in Niagara, New York and Fairfield, Indiana.

Rainbow Division Fights to Save Indiana Air Recruit in Wisconsin

Dan ish Vanebn of the Rainbow Division, with no family at his side, lies on his death bed at St Marys Hospital in Green Bay Wisconsin. He enlisted in the Indiana National Guard from Greencastle Indiana and was transferred from the Rainbow division after being gassed near the St Mihiel drive. He previously spent months in an army hospital and was discharged before settling in Rhinelander. His only relative is a sister in Indianapolis, whom efforts to locate have failed.

Four Fort Wayne men were killed when their speeding auto crashed into an interurban car on the Fort Wayne & Northwestern line north of Fort Wayne. The group, returning from Garrett, were traveling over thirty five miles per hour, according to witnesses.

Five Hurt as Train Strikes Horse and Vehicle

Five persons suffered minor injuries when a traction car derailed near Scelyville and Brazil on a Sunday evening. The car was knocked from the tracks by a collision, passengers were thrown from seats, and the wrecking crew took nearly two hours to reposition the car. Walter Albaugh, local motorman, was aboard. Local residents Cloverland saw a horse loose between Decatur and nearby locations as Mrs. Al Parker and daughters visited. Various residents travel plans and church convention preparations are noted among unrelated items.

SOX TO ATTEND THE MEETING AT SOUTH BEND

The Democratic Editorial Association plans a midsummer meeting in South Bend between August 16 and September 2. Key editors and national figures, including Mr. Cox and Mr. Roosevelt, are set to attend if permitted by the National Committee. An executive committee will supervise publicity and meet weekly.
