Brothers Shot by Assailant Near Martinsville
Andrew J. Renner a blacksmith from Mahalasville was killed and his brother Charles seriously wounded when Grover Roberts sprang from bushes and fired on them with a shotgun as they returned home with a load of wood. Charles was wounded in the shoulder but expected to recover. Andrew died at once.

Wildcat Battle Ends With Cat Slain In Hunting Hike
Wildcat pursued by Silas Bush L Hazzard and Leo Schnappa in Juniata township Huntingdon county was tracked to a rocky mountain area. Five dogs fought the beast in a fierce battle. the cat, 3 feet 6 inches long and 35 pounds, retreated to a cave before being killed with five dynamite sticks.
