Swine experts from Purdue Veterinary Extension demonstrate proper hog care to farmers, warning that losses from cholera can be reduced with correct methods. Public exhibition context emphasizes practical livestock health guidance.
Dr. L C Kigin and Prof C G Starr of Purdue Veterinary Extension spoke to Putnam County farmers about hog cholera. They described forms of the disease, diagnosis by post mortem, and the need for vaccination and sanitation. Demonstrations and explanations accompanied a two-car mobile exhibit heading to Fillmore tomorrow.
A large city delegation will depart at 6 o clock this evening for Pincastle in Putnam County. About 100 machines are expected to join the tour to the northern town for the social event.
About 100 Greencastle automobiles will depart at six o clock from the square for Fincastle Franklin township to attend an ice cream social. The booster club sponsors the trip with a stop in Bainbridge for a concert and a planned line formation along the Bainbridge road. Twenty six local owners will join including Carver Goshorn Stewart Moffett Priest Coshow Etcheson Leavel Starr Collins Rich Harris Pruitt Conn Anderson Sharp Brown Edwards Coffman Haynes Smith Davis Wimmer Wimmer Knauer and I L Wimmer.
A local band will perform a concert this Thursday night on the public square. The event is bi monthly and is organized under the auspices of the Greencastle Booster Club. Band activities were discussed at a Monday evening rehearsal.

The city school board received a $140 state remittance to cover two thirds of last winter’s night school costs, leaving $70 for the city to pay for three terms. The Green Castle night schools ran 18 weeks with eight classes weekly, each class costing about 48 cents. total costs were $210 with city funding at $70.
An estimated thirty five relatives gathered at Mrs. S. A. Chatham’s Coatesville home for a surprise reunion. Attendees included Marion Miller, Ruddie Greenlee, Elmer Chatham, Lee Chatham, Lester Miller, Cecil Miller, Tim Wilson, Leonard Chatham, Wayne Phillips and their families. Mrs. Chatham, a Putnam and Hendricks counties pioneer and landowner, is well past eighty and remains active.
A barrage of social calls and family visits filled the weekend as Uncle Mitt Goddard traveled with Kin Garre and family. Pearl Boswell and husband along with their baby spent days with Mr. and Mrs. William Eowel Little Helen Rogers returned home after visiting her aunt Dollie Garrett. Miss Ethel Eubank visited Mrs. Day.erry Wright and wife visited the flatter's mother. Andrew Toney and family visited Angus Fuqua and family.

The notice also announces the engagement of Isabelle Hughes and William F Remy, former DePauw students, with a September 9 wedding planned.
The DePauw School of Music duo Dean R. G. McCutchan and Van Denman Thompson had a concert planned in Meharry hall this evening, but the event was postponed to Tuesday July 27 at 8 o clock due to a Booster Club program. Townspeople are invited to attend the rescheduled performance.
Halstead Selby of the Central National Bank is on a two weeks vacation. He will spend part of his trip in Fort Branch Indiana, his former home. John F. Shonkwiler a Clinton township farmer who went to Indianapolis Saturday for eye surgery returned home today and the operation was successful in every respect.
