Terre Haute Men Talk on Greencastle Banquet and Local Commerce
The annual banquet at the Court House drew a large crowd despite a storm. Speakers included W. S. Creverling and W. Wimmer who discussed Putnam County business and real estate, the Wabash Valley movement, and the Greater Terre Haute club efforts to boost regional industry and commerce.

At the close of the speeches Dobbs led Frank Concillo in a cake auction bidding eleven dollars. The proceeds were donated to the Putnam County Armenia Relief fund. Music for the evening came from Marshall Abrams Ken Morris Dutch Hannerman and Hector Hoffman on saxophone.
Frisco chosen as Democratic convention site for 1920
Washington dispatch reports San Francisco as the Democratic National Convention city for 1920. The committee met and set June 28 at noon in San Francisco with no formal selection. They endorsed Versailles and condemned Senate Republicans for blocking the treaty. Kansas City and Chicago had been contenders until New Jersey's Robert S. Hudspeth switched his vote to San Francisco, making the decision unanimous.

Brazil man dies of gunshot wounds after early morning shooting
William Lawson, 42, died at Rawhey hospital after being shot by Louis Dyke Lemay, 49, a neighbor and trapper who surrendered at police. Lawson was found beside Pinckley Street road in Brazil Indiana in a snow pool. Lemay claimed to have shot him around 8 AM amid long standing tensions over alleged chicken theft. Lawson leaves a wife and three children. Lemay, married with a family, owns a small farm south of Harmony. Lawson is brother to R A Lawson, a local undertaker.

Gas Rate Increase Approved by Service Commission in Greencastle
The Greencastle gas rate rises were approved after a Dec 24 hearing by the Indians Jubsie Service Commission. The new plan raises 10 cents per 1000 cu ft and increases the minimum monthly charge from 50 to 75 cents, with net rates applying if bills are paid by the 10th. Attendees at a Brazil Chapter meeting included Mrs Shields McCray and others. state officers visited, drawing over 400 people for the reception.
