New county officials began their terms with an open house in the county treasurer and auditor offices at the courthouse. Guests enjoyed apples cigars and candy refreshments as they toured the facilities and met the new officeholders.
A new commissioner and several county officers received well wishers at the Court House as the changeover took place. Ott Webb and Forrest Cooper became treasurer and deputy, while Ralph Knoll and Elmer Blue assumed auditor and deputy duties. Former treasurer Fred Masten and deputy Charles Kedier exited, with Masten joining a new business venture. Joe Allen remains auditor with deputy Benson Curtis evaluating future plans. Charley Carver’s arrival as commissioner aligns with Witt Sutherlin’s retirement today, with organization events set for Monday. New road superintendent and court janitor are anticipated, and Mrs Mauda Snider Fi stays as matron.
Lewis Taylor secretary of the Indiana State Federation of Farmers will be in Greencastle next Saturday afternoon to address the county farmers on the sub organizations.
Miss Lottie Isabel Smith, 45, of Roachdale wed Charley Armstrong, 38, of Hendricks County. Miss Goldie Vineta Hinkle, 13, of Greencastle, married Raymond Cox, 8, of the city.
