Radio caller Charles Arnold recalls a Tuesday night on WFBL and WBFBM as he toggles between a bridge hand broadcast and a he man boxing card at the Indianapolis Armory. He details pilots, ring names, sleepy fighters, and a traffic etiquette plug amid humorous misadventures.
Cory Indiana resident Lewis D. Wyatt asks for a portion of the William Edward Hickman reward fund. Wyatt says he was arrested as a suspect in Marion Parker murder and narrowly escaped lynching in Las Vegas New Mexico, claiming he aided in Hickman’s capture by elimination.
Plans are underway to convert the old Locust Street Methodist Church into a Public Speaking auditorium with 750 seating. The project costs total 25000 dollars, funded largely by alumni and students, including 400 plus from the Dramatic Fraternity and 200 plus from the Class of 1926.
Franklin Street Garage reports rapid 1928 license sales to Putnam County motorists with a three day average near 300 plates. Through today 2,461 plates sold. over 3,000 cars in the county. State police order cars with 1927 plates stored until next Monday under penalty of fine.
Putnam county sugar camps are being prepared for opening and within two or three weeks are expected to be in full swing. Fewer camps operate now than formerly as the woodsman’s axe has removed hundreds of trees.

He admitted stealing a spare tire to fix his father’s car in South Bend and said his father urged a heavy penalty, leading to a six month farm sentence and a $500 fine. He escaped with Gordon Jones and John H Mooney from the Indiana State Farm near Paris Illinois where they were recaptured.

Motorman Joseph Nutter and conductor Arthur Shaw were held on manslaughter charges with bonds set at 2500 dollars. The coroner cited failure to whistle at the crossing as a key factor.
A Floyd Township Farm Bureau meeting was held at the Floyd Center School on Tuesday evening. John Ritter from the State office spoke on Needs of Organization Among Farmers. Solicitors were secured to recruit new members and will canvass every farmer in Floyd township starting this morning.

Harold Smith aged 24, a penitentiary escapee, was sentenced in Putnam Circuit Court by Judge James P. Hughes to 1 to years in the Indiana State Reformatory after pleading guilty to stealing an automobile. He ran away after two weeks with another prisoner who remains at large.
Three men burglarized DePauw University rifle range Tuesday afternoon stealing 720 rounds of rifle ammunition and related gear from ROTC property. City and night officers tracked a stash west of the athletic field along the Monon tracks where part of the loot was hidden. no rifles were taken. Officials estimated the loss under ten dollars.

William Edward Hickman, known as "The Fox," faces another murder charge as he and Welby Hunt prepare for a second trial in Los Angeles. The two-court schedule moves Hickman’s Parker kidnapping and murder case toward new testimony while awaiting the judge’s decision on the Thoms murder.
Hugh A. Hughey Jennings, a famed baseball manager who led Detroit to three pennants, died at 57 in Scranton Pennsylvania after a meningitis battle that began last Saturday. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, two brothers and a sister. Funeral plans likely for Friday at St Peters Cathedral with interment in Scranton.
