Movement organized to aid starving across Putnam county
A well attended meeting at the courthouse chaired by William B. Peck formed a supervising committee to coordinate relief for starving people. Funds will sponsor orphans and families with monthly pledges of 5 to 15 dollars. The drive aims for a countrywide canvas beginning early 1921 with local leaders including Grant Scott and Charles McGaughey.

Funeral for Mrs. Charles Allen Set for Saturday
The 63 year old Mrs. Charles Allen died Thursday morning at her Madison township home from tuberculosis. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 pm at the home with Rev. Toole of Bedford presiding. Burial is in Forest Hill Cemetery. The Ben Hur tribe meets tonight to elect officers including Nelson Taulman as chief and M. A. Keifer as scribe.

Verdict favors company in big damage suit in Indiana
In Danville Indiana on December 9 a jury ruled for the defendants in the case of Arthur Rose administrator versus the T H I E traction company. The damages totaled 10000 for the death of Vernice Kivett following an auto truck collision near Plainfield on November 9 1917. The fog obscured lights from both vehicles and a westbound freight struck the truck. Kivett survived briefly after the crash while Kiser escaped injury. Kivett was the son in law of Vermandes C Hurst of Danville.

California Mob Hangs Murderers in Sonoma County
A mob of about 100 men seized Sheriff Petray and two other officers from the Sonoma county jail in Santa Rosa. They were taken to a cemetery and hanged from an oak tree within fifteen minutes amid car lights. The bodies remained as the crowd dispersed.
