A. G. Brown of Greencastle has been elected president of the Federal Land Bank of Louisville. He will assume duties June 2, succeeding George M. Wilber. Brown, a DePauw graduate and former Brazil resident, has led First National Bank of Greencastle since 1919. Witnesses describe Columbus prison blaze as gruesome sight
Two Greencastle youths Duane Longden and Francis Lear witnessed the Ohio State prison fire in Columbus Old Monday night as it swept through. The boys, traveling through the city, stood across the street minutes after the blaze began and called the scene the most gruesome they had ever seen. Mrs. Ernest Dresse of St. Louis is visiting Mrs. W. F. Swahlen and Mrs. J. P. Allen Jr.
