Colored Boy Fatally Injured by Car in Crawfordsville
Robert De Vaughan six years old of Crawfordsville was struck by a seven passenger sedan driven by W. S. M. Hughes and F. R. Waters Terre Haute capitalists. The accident occurred near the colored school on Beech Street and Wabash Avenue at about 4 PM. Eyewitnesses say the boy darted into the street and the front wheel passed over him fracturing skull and breaking a leg. The drivers were detained for investigation by the Montgomery County prosecutor.
