Citizens of Putnam County Indiana petition the U S circuits court requesting appointment of election supervisors for the November election 1802. Notarized certification confirms signers are known voters in good standing.

The Greencastle council debated water works contract terms with Philadelphia agents, lighting costs for the Mayor’s office, and a street culvert at Olive and Locust. The meeting included remarks on fire alarm plans and library funding, with remonstrances set for November 22 and committee referrals on finances, sidewalks, and street lighting.
Albert H. Dean of Madison visits relatives. J. F. Darnall of Muncie attends. Turk’s Mrs Dr Morrow from Clayton. Carl Hester of Chicago and Col Cavins of Bloomfield listed among guests. Postmaster Godfrey of New Albany visits Postmaster Hays. Joe Wulfram of Muncie and Harry G. Richardson of Coatesville also noted.
Extra fine horses and heavy draft stock ready for sale with sixteen to eighteen hundred pounds. G. W. Black sent horses to Brattleboro Vermont this week. A buggy accident injured Louis Hirt and his wife when struck by a Big Four train. Mr Hirt broke three ribs and Mrs Hirt escaped with minor injuries. The 76 year old is reported to be recovering under Dr. Lammers.
Philadelphia bishop Wayman spoke at the A M E church Thursday night and a festival followed at the Masonic hall.
Mrs W F E Hopkins visits Lebanon festives. Hillis operates a stone crusher. Hillis & Parker tear down the old heading factory. Will Maloney re- papers his business house. Dan B Rowland recovers from pneumonia. Miss Mattie Smith of Indianapolis visits Miss Hattie Ludeke. Neff and Colliver booked for two Democratic speeches. South End Democrats promise campaign effort for November 5. Van dalla Lunch House opens at Van depot site. T A Vancl eave returns from Kentucky. Pat Summers fills in on the Van for Brakeman Morgan injured at Limedale. A vigilant police presence at railroad crossings urged. O'Hair sale draws crowds with fair prices.
The Logansport area farmer Isaiah Krider vanished after claiming he would meet his family in heaven following a quarrel with his daughter over her suitor. He reportedly visited Indianapolis Vincennes and Evansville before returning home in a calmer mood. An axe thrown at the young man by Krider failed to harm him, a memory of tension over the daughter's relationship.
George Perry longtime Putnam County resident died in Lafayette on October 4 from diabetes and blood poisoning tied to a carbuncle on his arm. Born in Putnamville fifty four years ago, he funeralized at Putnamville where services were held after burial there. He resided in Lafayette recently and leaves a wife and seven children.

A Republican critic says candidate displays in windows breach decorum and unity at a veterans reunion. Jacon Trautman urges health officials to fix gutters at Walnut and Jackson to prevent disease.
The Big Four will pay on October 25. Chas Moore has returned to Poplar Bluffs Missouri. Mr and Mrs Robert Scobee left for Colorado Wednesday. James Crane of the Monon visited here Sunday and Monday. Miss Anna Kirby of Orleans is the guest of Mrs Laurence F Moore. Thomas McMahon of Bedford is visiting Mrs Mary Atkins and family. The North End democrats are in good shape and will lead the First Ward procession as usual. They are hustlers. Henry Cox of the Monon section was badly hurt in the back at work Tuesday by a breaking spike. President Ingalls of the Big Four visited the union depot Wednesday aboard a five car special. Masters George and Harry Sage of Ashmore Illinois, with their mother, have been visiting their grandparents, Mr and Mrs John Sage. James Curran stopped briefly while en route from Newman Illinois to Indianapolis. He plans to return to Kentucky as the North is too slow for his gait. John Sage, landlord of the National House, has installed electric light in front. City lights at Jackson and Madison crossings urged. Fines for blockading the crossing harm railroad workers. Big Four magnates’ pockets untouched. Conductor Yost of the Big Four received a $12.50 fine Monday. Officer Stone arrested John Corthem, Monon conductor, who promised to go uptown and then sped away. he will be snared later.

All Greencastle post 11 G A R members must gather at the post room at Lo’dock on Columbian Day to participate in observances. Ex soldiers appointed to visit schools assemble at 8:45 a m at each assigned school, with lists for 1st Ward IL M Chapin to W B Vestal, 2nd Ward EF T Chaffee to J A Jackson, 3rd Ward J Merkle to H Heartwood, Colored School Albert Allen to J F Fee, High School to be announced.
William McOuatt, a long time resident of Cloverdale and Scotland native, died Monday night from pneumonia. Survived by widow and children, he attended the G A R encampment in Washington and was buried with Grand Army honors Tuesday. Married twice, notices record unions of Morton Wells with Ethel Hardy and Joseph Everman with Kate Sliuey in Usbridge and county.
Two couples were joined at Dan Darnali’s marital institute with Elder A. H. Morris officiating. On October 8 Mimer diaconer and Corda Cline wed, and on October 1 Wallisce of Morgan County wed Miss Rilla Duinnivan of Belle Union in the same gracious ceremony.
The schedule lists the march order beginning with the Band and DePauw Cadets, followed by civic and fraternal groups on North Vine and South Vine streets, then school units from First Ward through Fourth Ward, high school, Catholic and university contingents, preparatory and professional schools, then citizens on foot and equestrians. The procession moves at 2 pm with a detailed route from College Avenue west on Washington to Indiana and loops back to Hanna Locust and the reviewing stand for exercises.
