Community Church schedules indicate Sunday School at 9 45 and church service at 11 with a sermon Love and youth fellowship at 7 30. On August 28 new members will be received after the 11 00 service and a city park pot luck picnic with games and singing follows. L D 8S church also lists services with sacraments and meetings including mutual aid and primary activities.
Ferron and Emery County residents mourn the death of Dr Easley age 73 who died at home August 10. He practiced in Moab briefly then settled in Ferron about 50 years ago and served through horse and buggy days. survived by wife Clyda Conover Bailey, daughter Katherine Taylor, and three sons Bruce, Horace, and Eugene. Also noted is the funeral of Mrs Millie Cook Burdick, Ferron’s first white birth, and a report on the near completion of a new 28 foot highway through Ferron with two new bridges and improved channels aiming to safer driving and summer completion.
Ferron hosts Peach Days on Friday and Saturday September 15 and 16 with free peaches, a program of acts, wrestling, races, and a big dance sponsored by the Lions Club. Niels Larsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Larsen, plans to depart soon for an L. D. 8 mission.
MOAB Utah North Standard Mining Co began a fully mechanized operation in the Church slope of its Lark Leighton mine in Bull Canon Montrose County Colo Mines Manager Clyde R Bellows said production will reach 50 tons weekly immediately with a goal of 130 tons weekly eventually Bellows became mines manager.

George Utermohle, 37, will join Atlas Uranium Corp. in Moab Utah on August 15 as chief geologist and mining engineer announced by Atlas President J C Burgess. A World War II army veteran, he studied geology at the University of New Mexico and civil engineering, with further studies at New Mexico School of Mines in 1937 1938. He has worked in Venezuela Alaska Kansas Texas and on the Colorado Plateau since January with San Juan Engineering Co.

Paramount Uranium Corp stockholders will vote September 12 in Moab Utah on a proposed merger with Atlas Uranium Corp. Paramount would sell all assets to Atlas in an outright sale. Albert F. Enyart, Paramount president, announced the meeting and plans. Stockholders will receive letters detailing the exchange plan though no ratio has been disclosed.
The group resolved to appoint a committee to draft a constitution and by laws and to plan for a general meeting soon. Mr Taylor named Buck Kirk Thompson to assist him with Green River representatives Mrs Arthur Ekker and Wayne Smith. The committee will meet Tuesday in Moab ahead of a probable Green River meeting on Melon Day.
