A Wisconsin editorial urges residents to exercise their voting rights on Tuesday April 5 urging turnout for national and local contests. It emphasizes scrutiny of presidential candidates and stresses that trustees on the Village Board three of four seats. It calls for bipartisan participation and appeals to reluctant voters to vote their beliefs and trust.
New store items advertise 21 inch Rotary Reo Power Mower Essers paint and wallpaper offered for home use plus a charcoal outdoor broiler. Dam representatives included Bill Patterson Anton Wieske Syl Adrian and Robert Wright. Green Lake County Board members Edwin Mielke Edwin Ewald attended with Coward. Princeton delegates Fred Kannenberg Peter Kiekierka and Berlin delegates Tellefson Knopf attended. State officials discussed reclassifying unused war dam sites as park sites. The joint committees plan a Fox River area visit in Green Lake County. John Ackerman Cyril Kabat represented the state conservation commission. W A Conard Berlin was elected chairman and Ed Riggs Green Lake County Clerk secretary. Marquette County.
Robins were seen in a yard last week as warm weather on Sunday and into the early week signaled spring with convertibles top down and early green shoots peeking through. A dramatic change followed a Friday snow storm that left streets slick by Sunday.
The Green Lake High School trio who earned top marks in the Stevens Point district forensic contest—David Egbert, Janet Wend, and Tom Robinson—led the Rotary Club meeting Monday night with their award winning speeches. Mrs Heiple coached the forensics team and attended with visiting Rotarian Fred Schleuter, plus Edward Riggs and Fred Hoth as guests.
A compact listing of local affairs including luncheon and card parties at various churches, a minstrel show at the high school auditorium, Rotary and Altar Society gatherings, sports events such as volleyball, election day activities, and a notice to vote on April 5 at the Court House and Village Hall. Local clubs and organizations such as Federated Church and Our Lady of the Lake Church are featured with times and venues.
