P T A Open House Surprised by Power Outage

An unscheduled blackout during a Monday night P T A Open House disrupted activities as some teachers kept students engaged while lights failed. A pheasant caused a substation fault triggering the outage. light returned and business remodeling continued with shops upgrading interiors and adding coin operated laundry.

Serious Accident Near Park In Ripon Injures James Condon

James Condon aged 22 of 703 Watson Street Ripon suffered severe head and facial lacerations and possible concussion after an early Sunday morning crash opposite Hattie Sherwood Park. Found unconscious 39 feet offshore from his car, he had apparently lost control while heading toward Green Lake, struck a power pole, and ended up on the ice near the shore. Officer Herman Rasmussen reported Condon wandered from the vehicle to the water’s edge.

Accidents and Community News Report From Ripon Area

A collision case involving Condon, a Ripon Motors salesman, required Dr Leininger and Dr Barbour as medical responders with the RIPON Police Ambulance taking him to a hospital in Madison for plastic surgery after a 1959 Ford Thunderbird wreck. Weekend incidents include Hope Ann Haima’s $350 skid into a snow bank and a second crash near Markesan with damages around $360 to Roger Stelter’s car and $150 to Herbert Kohn’s auto. Community events list church gatherings, Rot ary volleyball, and a series of local society activities, plus social visits and a Montello Woman's Club meeting with Hawaii themed program by Mrs. G.M. Stoddard.
