Coal Find Reported Near Arickaree by J C Cope
J C Cope of the Arickaree reports a large vein of coal southwest of here about thirty miles. He says the coal is high quality, comparable to Canon City, and notes lumber costs at 4 to 12 dollars per 1000 feet at local sawmills. He also cites twenty seven inches of rainfall in late July and the month of age, per careful observation.
