Weld county farms anticipate record output this year with wheat reported from forty to sixty five bushels per acre and oats near six ty bushels on average. Despite bumper crops there are many farm transfers as land sales surge.
Beebe Draw August 31 sees most grain thresh ed and good yields. R S Chesnut thresh ed 2000 bushels grain 200 oats 1800 wheat with 42 bushels per acre. Jake Oland er reports 2100 bushels wheat and oats with oats at 60 bushels per acre. Chris
Justice Edward Reikery asked the Greeley sheriff for protection for 14 year old Katie Ernst, an alleged target in an attempted removal from her hotel employment. Ernst was arrested, taken to the county hospital, and will face a judge while others unnamed face charges, with plans to place her in a new environment.
In August substantial progress on several structures is noted. The Catholic and Christian churches rise quickly and may be ready for roofing by October. The Camfield Hotel addition is under cover, with interior finishers to work soon. The Japanese Labor Contracting company filed incorporation papers in Colorado with J S Kiyama Charles K Kakatsuka and K Taketa as organizers and $3000 capital The group aims to supply and hire Japanese for beet fields and to raise wages toward white worker levels across the Rocky Mountain region Analysts say the move could increase wages for about 30000 Japanese and reduce worker opposition in the area
Jacob Wagner tenant on a Crow Creek district farm files suit through attorneys to join Union Pacific condemnation cases. He cites irrigation ditch removal and damage to alfalfa, potatoes, beets, barley and oats totaling 2045.66 dollars. He seeks damages and prompt adjustment is expected.

The trio burglarized John Hayden’s residence at Ault last week, as two Mexicans arrested at Windsor Monday night are tied to the case. They carried six shooters and sold knives and razors, suspected in the Tyler & Sprinkle burglary at Ault. They were jailed. Attorney Joseph C. Ewing filed for executor of Melissa Brainard estate and will probate set for September 7. Clyde Fawlton fined $15 and costs after a Jamaica Jag acquirement Monday.
