A local notice urges Tuesday voting for the Republican slate praising all candidates as good and competent. It states support for the Republican ticket while offering no slur on opponents and leaves the decision to the voters.
Engineer Nettleton presents a table of seepage measurements for the Cache la Poudre from canyon to mouth. The study marks the first of its kind in Colorado, showing how irrigation districts increase stream volume through seepage and the resulting growth of canals and related enterprises.
The State Engineer notes that increasing stream discharge from 127,609 to 214,508 cubic feet per second during flood times markedly boosts irrigation capacity. Extending this to other streams could aid Water Commissioners in apportioning water among claimants and stabilizing seasonal supply.
Town considers extending a main drain from Main street to the river to relieve surface water in the Hunter & West block and the First National Block. Officials estimate a $2,500 cost to run the pipe through to the brick yard, avoiding an open trench this winter.
