Miss Mattie Iverson won the free stove in Pier Brothers Saturday drawing. All tickets were free with over 600 issued, drawing at 4 pm drew a crowd that blocked the sidewalk and spilled into the street. The 18 Cole's Hot Blast stove stood on the sidewalk as heat and cheer surrounded the event, boosting store sales and demand for heaters.
Andrew Palm lies in Weld County Hospital with a fractured skull and injuries after a two-horse rig struck him on Evans road Saturday. Palm, Hiram Stone, and Gus Johnson were riding bicycles on the cycle path when the wagon passed them. The driver shouted to clear the way. a horse knocked Palm down and entangled in the wheel. Palm and companions were taken to town by Red Darnell and C A Alford for treatment. Tom Geiger was arrested for the strike. George Wickman was told not to leave Evans.

He recounted days immersed in flood chaos across New Mexico and laboring through washed out rail lines to Santa Fe, Bernalillo, and Albuquerque with meals, trains, and even concerts aboard the stranded trains. He now seeks his old clerical post in Greeley while recounting the arduous journey.
The Hon. J. M. Sampliner of Grand Junction stayed in the city from Wednesday noon to Thursday guesting with old schoolmate S. M. Goodman. A Democratic candidate for state treasurer, he is about 40, has lived in Colorado twenty years, mainly in Grand Junction, where he runs a mercantile business and has served three consecutive terms as mayor.

He blocked access as prisoners planned to overpower him and escape through the cage and corridor, with about ten inmates facing serious charges.
