A special meeting of Corps 15 Woman's Auxiliary to the G A R will be held at the G A R hall at 3 p m Thursday Nov 12. Full attendance is particularly desired.
L. R. Rhodes fears mountain vote loss as Larimer returns loom. Unitarian dime social with games and literary program Friday. Carl Trensch joins Ford Bernstein. James J. Armstrong anniversary. N. F. Dresser visits. Gale home hosts fourth wedding anniversary. Exposition work, bank changes, and local real estate transfers noted. Mussel growth in nearby towns, rail and mining chatter, and Major Dane lectures highlighted.
In Pueblo County Colorado five large irrigation projects have opened in the past year. The latest at the old Antobee ranch near the Huerfano irrigates over 5000 acres with a six mile ditch ten feet wide and three feet deep costing about $6000. Built by Carlile and Aldre with Mr Field. Plans also discuss a thirty mile ditch from the Arkansas to the Nolan grant across the Colorado Coal and Iron Company land to the S J Charles mouth. Clark and Brown of Denver are evaluating the project.
A farm association organized in Alamosa draws in Hon. Alva Adams John A McDonald Isaac W Hill and about a dozen other business leaders to operate a large farm one mile from Alamosa under the Empire Canal on a cooperative plan A superintendent will manage all farm details and a neat fence will enclose the property with expectations of a paying crop in the first season.
