City grapples with severe water shortage halting sprinkling. Officials warn lawns and parks suffer as demand outpaces supply, leaving streets dusty and residents urged to conserve water amid ongoing drought conditions.
At Kick Night the council heard protests from sewer district 65 owners and downtown business leaders. They favor budgeting about $3,000 yearly to sprinkle streets, claiming savings on repairs. The street committee was asked to study the petition with attention to gravel residence streets. A Mukey Concrete Co contract for alleys in blocks 44 and 67 near $2,000 was approved. Ferguson won permission to build a one story brick photo gallery on Ninth Avenue. Spires’ corner lot plan was refused.
Early returns show Democrats winning nationwide and gaining a House majority. Key results include Shafroth in Colorado, Dix in New York, Harmon in Ohio, Foss in Massachusetts, Wilson in New Jersey, and Baldwin in Connecticut. Indiana and Iowa victories noted. outcomes in others uncertain.

Negotiations failed between the General Managers' association and engineers over wage and working conditions. A strike vote will be held among Colorado & Southern Union Pacific Burlington Rock Island and 57 other western lines. About 200 Colorado engineers are involved. results expected by December 10.

After twenty two years in Creeley Mr and Mrs W Barden have sold their property and plan relocation to Denver. Mrs Barden led the children away Tuesday for the new home and Mr Barden will follow in a few weeks.
