Stormy Prairie Tale Of A Porcupine And A Railroad Man
John Boulter Pierce captured a large porcupine during a severe storm last Monday. The animal sought shelter. Pierce fixed it a large box and grew attached, stroking its back as the porcupine stayed close. The storm from the north last Friday night brought deep snow and strong winds that obscured the depot and trees while Pierce’s family kept warm and baked pastries.
