Governor Buchtel spoke at the Evans A. P. church as the floor settled slightly under the crowd. The Anti-saloon League led by Rev. I A Blackwood organized talks urging saloon closures ahead of the April 7 election. Civil War veterans escorted the governor from the train and hosted by Lt. Rhodes, with large attendance and standing room outside.
Byron Newton and Son sold five acres on the Delta belonging to W E B Kinsella to James Morger of Fort Collins for 3000. Kinsella bought from Morger a quarter section two miles southeast of Gilcrest. Another sale by the Newtons was 40 acres east of the cemetery belonging to Morris Brothers, purchased by William Cope Land of Kansas for 6400.
At 800 Ninth Street the Sunday morn ing service is at 11 with the sermon Reality. A Wednesday 7 30 testimonial meeting features Life and Work of Henry J Thoreau. A 10 a m men’s club talk by Rev W Bates. Morning 10 45 sermon by the pastor titled A Midnight Messenger. Evening sermon The Mother-in-law. Gospel songs led by choir and orchestra. All welcome.
