Severe Snow Storm Ravages Colorado Mountains

The past week brought a major snow storm across Colorado and the nation. Snow slides wreck homes and block railways from Ouray to Aspen, isolating Durango and Silverton while shutting mines at Crested Butte. In Estes Park and Grand and Poudre river headwaters, feet of snow threaten feed and irrigation water. Port Collins records 21 inches in March, promising a strong water year. The weather boosts early irrigation prospects and spring wheat, with stock generally in good condition. The next W. T. U. meeting is set for March 27 at 2:30 pm.
