Alfalfa Experiment Might Obliterate Right of Way Weeds
The Union Pacific plans to plant a thousand mile alfalfa strip along its Omaha to Ogden right of way to suppress weeds. If successful, the hardy crop will choke weeds between fences and may be extended by other railroads. Farmers along the line may cut and use the alfalfa.
