Lightning Kills Peter Simons at Crow Creek Ranch
During a thunder storm on Monday evening Peter Simons was struck and killed while tending plants near L. Ogilvy's Crow Creek ranch. Partner Andrew Judge, stunned by the bolt, aided by neighbors, and Simons' body taken to Greeley for examination. Coroner House ruled the death due to lightning. Simons, 25, American with Norwegian parentage, was visiting Colombo before living there two years.

Rosa M Johnson wife of H V Johnson secretary to Colonel F S Hatch of Bancroft’s works died yesterday in the city of consumption at age 31. She leaves three children. Remains to Lexington Kentucky for burial. Johnson has been in Greeley this spring gathering Colorado history material and made many friends.
