The Round-Up advertisement proclaims 25 and 50 cent sale days at the Greeley Cash Store. Bargains begin in all departments and will be displayed on three center tables in Dry Goods and one table in Clothing with a partial list of items available.
Readable list shows a mid 20th century sale with numerous fabrics garments and household goods cut to 25 cents for a two day period on July 25 and 26. Items include cloths ribbons hats skirts shoes table linen towels laces and more from vendors Broadhead Goods and others.
Two day sale advertises heavy discounts on dress fabrics and trims with items such as Black Dress Goods Camelettes Henriet tas Plaid Goods Dress Trimmings Buttons Stockings Gauze Underwear Muslin Underwear Ribbons Bustles Corsets Silk Gloves Embroidered Kid Gloves Jerseys Babies Lace Caps Hats Flowers Table Linen Skirts Parasols Fans Boys Pants Suspenders Men's Ties Straw Hats Baby Shoes and Bake Pans. Local notices mention travels visits and community events in Greeley and surrounding areas with multiple residents moving, visiting, fishing trips, church socials, and club activities.
August first Mr. Mitchell will head to New York and Philadelphia to buy Fall Goods. The store claims money left by customers during special sales will fund purchases and rides to market.
The Mitchell and Patton Mise Company extends an offer tying Tur Gaechey Trinune to election periods at fifty cents. The Trinune runs six months and Kansas City Journal until November 15. Subscribers renewing receive Kansas City Journal free through November 15.
In Greeley Colorado on July 19 1888 Hose Co No 1 members proposed naming the new organization after George H West in gratitude for his past aid to the fire department. The group requested permission to use his name and signed the petition with foreman Joan Perrikin secretary and others.
George Lambert about thirty is found dead at W L Porter residence in this city on July 20. Porter family are east. Lambert cared for the place during their absence. Suspected suffocation from throat and nasal disease. coroner finds no foul play and attributes death to natural causes. A Denver physician letter notes a severe attack the previous night. Last seen at one o'clock in the yard feeding chickens. body warm when found.
