J C Erickson of Greeley fights a $54 judgment from Ault justice court over ten cases of eggs shipped to him by Gafner. Hale, a traveling man, ordered the eggs and allegedly diverted the proceeds after Erickson refused delivery, leading Gafner to sue Erickson and appeal to the county court. Attorneys Ewing and Kelley represent the parties.
Citizens clash over paving an alley between Eighth and Ninth avenues and streets with water runoff damaging basements and hindering travel. A July 7 meeting of the Commercial club will decide on a fall carnival. A group of forty friends from eastern homes gathered at Lincoln Park for a picnic including several Wilson and Shields families.

The Farmers' club will meet next month to push cooperation between farmers and commission men on potato inspection and to call for more inspectors. President E. R. Bliss says this year’s crop looks larger and of better quality, barring heavy rains, with irrigation affecting beets and peas yields.

Tony Morris and Steve Eathorne, Greeks, are jailed twenty days each on concealed weapons charges after being found armed. Assistant District Attorney Keyes condemns foreigners packing guns as a threat to peace. A telegram later informs J M Peterson of his brother in law George Brown’s death in Coalville Utah.
A man stretched across railroad tracks near La Salle last night and dozed. George Fox and a companion saw him in time and dragged him off before the eight o clock train could pass. The engine breathed from the locomotive as the man was rescued.
A man was found on railroad tracks, intoxicated, and carried to safety by bystanders who left him snoring at a safe distance. Police were alerted to the incident and the man received local care.
La Salle July 7 confirmation that the Denver Reservoir and Irrigation company has straightened its affairs and is paying off all contractors and workers. J. E. Dunn, holder of one of the largest contracts, received a check this morning.
L F Tucker of the Kersey State Bank leaves for Eldora Iowa to interest local capitalists in a Kersey canning factory. No promises yet but local interest runs high as the town eyes factory status. D M DeCamp will run the bank in Tucker’s absence for about a week to ten days.
Last night the Chicago Operatic Company drew full seating and standing room crowds at the Chautauqua. The program featured a mix of grand opera numbers and Scottish Irish songs with strong encores. Miss Isabelle Maynard appears tonight with Dr L B Wickersham delivering a talk on Dry Dreams plus a schedule of lectures and a Greeley Commercial Glee Club concert tomorrow.
S H Coon photographed a wagon driver collided with a cyclist near the station in a morning incident. The rider and driver fell but escaped injury as the episode was an amusing exhibition of trick riding.
Boston July 6. The National Education association faces a split over the presidency with Mrs Ella Flagg Young of Chicago School leading the contest. Z X Snyder of Colorado advocates oppose her but has not committed to a bid. Delegates vote tomorrow on the nominating committee and factional tensions rise.
Mrs. H. Zeiler and three sons, residents here for three months, returned to Leadville today. She had cared for her mother Mrs. John Bauer who is ill and plans to move on to Greeley soon.
