A Saturday expedition sponsored by the Tribune drew eight coach loads from Greeley for a Weld County trip along the Moffat road to Tolland and Rollins Pass. Hundreds enjoyed the scenery, with many climbing the mountain behind the depot and a halt at Rollins Pass. The return voyage featured songs and stories as the band’s treasury improved, and locals praised the outing as more pleasing than the first.

A gasoline engine from Detroit is needed to generate electricity. Boulder uses a court house flag pole temporarily while a permanent pole is ordered. Additional poles go to Fort Collins Cheyenne completing the northern Colorado district with Denver as central station.

David Grimes Dies Pioneer Horticulturist Veteran of Civil War
David S. Grimes died at his Denver home at 7:30 p m from gangrene after a month long illness. Born in Virginia, he was 77 and came to Colorado with the Greeley colony in 1871. He lived in Greeley until 1878 then moved to Denver and led early Colorado horticulture. He served as president of the first state horticultural society and reported on the Grand Junction fruit district predicting its growth.

Remains of Homer Ogden Brought From Plains
Coroner Macy returned to Greeley from Grover with the body of Homer Ogden a young sheep herder lost in a April blizzard while tending Anthony Wilkinson Live Stock company flocks. His body was buried by snow and later recovered. Macy seeks Ogden’s relatives in Illinois.

Hearing Date Set for O Hara Heirship Claims
August 7 fixed for hearing the various claims of heirship to the estate of the late Mr and Mrs Charles H O Hara. The Brighton area murder victims left an estate valued near 5000 with two rival families asserting rightful inheritance.
