Surprise Birthday for A H Davis at Mrs Arthur Home

Twenty two friends of A H Davis gathered Friday evening at Mrs Minnie Arthur's home as he arrived from the depot to celebrate his birthday. They presented a cut glass wine set with decanter and six glasses and a silver tray. Progressive high five provided amusement with prizes awarded to Mr James Schriver and Mrs Schriver, and consolation prizes to Miss Mae Lipsey and George Cox. Refreshments followed.

Potatoes Moving As Shipments Pick Up After Freeze

Potato shipments have risen to fifty to sixty car loads daily after a sharp cold snap that delayed orders. Prices from the Potato Growers and Dealers' association hold at thirty cents per hundred, with thirty five for extra fine potatoes. A market is opening in the north and west with ten car loads sent to Montana, the first in five years, while Utah shows interest. E W Langtry elected foreman of the Brush Hose company replacing Bert Sullivan who left for Chicago.
