Plans for a new $25,000 Eaton high school have been accepted by the school board, with bids likely early next month. Architect is William Redding of Boulder. The structure will be northern Colorado's only high school with a full basketball gym, labs on the third floor, a basement stock room and separate lunchrooms, and a large assembly area on the second floor. The lot was donated by Bruce G. Eaton for the town’s boys and girls, with the remaining block to be used for an athletic field.
In the current sheep market feeders are selling at about 1 per head and up. Eaton feeders boast bold results by taking on sheep feeding this year. Last fall 143 carloads were shipped into Eaton country, about 20 percent more than last season, and Eaton claims it is the only Northern Colorado area feeding more sheep this winter than last. Fort Collins has fewer feeders this season, and Weld county feeding points are below normal.
At the meeting of stockholders the old board of directors was reelected: A. C. Adams, A. J. Eaton, A. F. Eaton, T. H. Wilson, J. D. Wilson, W. R. Clark and F. L. Weller. Directors later reappointed the old officers and Mr. Weller received a leave of absence.
Raton Encampment No. 74, L. O. F. held its installation with W. B. Woolley deputized by the district deputy to conduct the ceremony. New officers include J. A. Fleming C P, H. Russell S W, C G. E. Leeper Scribe, Arthur Ling Treasurer, Amos Ackroyd H P, Cobler J. W.
Y Naka the Jap with abundant creditors has been released from the county jail. Creditors met and agreed to divide Naka assets among themselves. he reportedly promised to exert himself next season to liquidate remaining debts. Judge Pressly paid $776 to mortgagees from Sugar factory proceeds. Horses and beets realized about $300 and were divided pro rata. Farmers Supply Company located machinery in a dugout north of town and the mortgaged goods. the complaint was withdrawn after discovery. Other creditors included W H Atkins Ahlstrand Mercantile Co W A McCave and J C Mathers, who received more than expected.
Weld County Farmers association delegates including N. D. Bartholomew, J. B. Cozzins, and J. M. Collins will attend a Collins meeting to arrange a beet labor schedule. Fort Morgan Johnstown and eastern Colorado beet districts send committees. They will push pulling and topping be paid by the ton rather than by the acre still used.
Ault residents contest a deed error placing a graveyard on Mary J Good’s land. Attorney Nixon seeks reformation to fix the description after an omission misassigned west quarter. Albert Allison ceded land for a cemetery. record error led to mislocation and title issues to be corrected in court.
Olive Camp No. 4487 R. N. A. held installation of officers last night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gill. Wallie Lehr installed as Oracle, Rose Gibson as Vice Oracle, Etta Foulke as Past Oracle, Pearl Rowe as chancellor, Christie Poe as recorder, Ora Stevens as receiver, Sarah Harris as marshal, F. J. Stoner and Cora Mackley as managers, Dr. A. Anderson as physician.
A stockholders meeting held at 10 o clock yesterday elected directors August Molander Henry Mead D K Wyatt Henry Thompson Jacob Hasbrouck Ray Gale and W C Wyatt. Officers chosen were Jacob Hasbrouck president August Molander vice president and Ray Gale cashier.
Denver correspondent writes that a rumor the Colorado and Southern Railway bought the Depac property is unfounded. The writer states intention to improve the cafe after current lease ends and to personally supervise operations to offer the best eating house in the west for locals and travelers.
Tuesday January 12 marked the tenth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Edwards. A small gathering at their home featured playful description slips of the wives wedding dresses, a dining repast with tin dishes, and cards. Guests included B. F. Johnson, W. H. Gill, Ralph King, B. G. Eaton, Mrs. T. C. Willams, and Ethel Lovell.
Locals from Eaton announce the birth of a daughter on Tuesday January 12 to Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Stockfleth. William Krause plans to depart today for Weiser Idaho, while Mrs. Krause may stay with her mother Mrs. J Jones. Hilma Anderson traveled to Denver Tuesday and will undergo appendicitis surgery, accompanied by her father and her physician.
A Tuesday evening party at Mr and Mrs J M Cameron hosted by Trudy and Misses Laura and Deta honored guests Herman and Charles Neptunne of Boulder. About twenty youths attended and played games. Refreshments were served by the hostesses late in the evening.
The semi annual election of Arts Crafts club officers at State Normal was held Friday morning. They chose Miss Alice Jones as president, Ethel Joel as secretary, and Mr Stiffler as treasurer for the remainder of the school year.
A public reception Friday evening January 16 in the Central Business College rooms celebrates the Greeley Business College purchase by the Central circuit. Dr Snyder of the Normal school will address. Miss Hamel will read Hiawatha with musical accompaniment by Miss Sarah Hunter. Teachers from various schools will attend both the reception and the Business College Teachers institute on Saturday January 17. The public is invited.

The Social Science Circle meets at Rev Forward’s home on Tuesday discussing pure milk and public health, with Mr Strauss and Mr Babcock cited for reducing child death rates.
Mr Hart, after filing seventy two mortgages on land in Chalk Bluff district, aims to finalize a sale with a Nebraska banker for the entire tract. The property, once Union Pacific owned, covers every alternate section in two townships and includes prime dry farm land held as high as $15. The bluffs are not on this land, which is arable but likely water scarce.
Mrs Chappelow received a happy afternoon surprise at her home from Baptist church ladies celebrating her birthday. A dainty lunch was served and she received a beautiful gift in appreciation of her service to the church. Friends regret her upcoming departure for the West.

W H McCall of Windsor, through attorney Joseph C Ewing, sues Frank J Smith with bondsmen Colburn and Moody in district court for 489 damages from an illegal attachment on McCall's bank account. Smith earlier won 200 on a note but the attachment was dissolved. two years of tied funds and damaged credit cited.
Perry vs Heffelfinger case near Windsor led to a sheriff seizure and forced removal. Heffelfinger, in arrears by about 1700 dollars, resisted with deputies called, custody left briefly, and a jail stay ensued. Perry planned housing at Fort Collins, but judgment claims nearly all his property. The article notes a harsh winter and a colder law.

Greeley Camp No 6 of the Woodmen announces social meetings for January February and March. The last meeting each month will be a social gathering to which wives and sweethearts of members are invited. A committee will provide entertainment to promote fraternity among members and friends.
