Beet Seed Shortage Warned by German Industry Circular
The Deutsche Zuckerindustrie reports a greatly reduced beet seed crop in Germany due to labor shortages mild winters and harsh weather. Seed fields yielded just a few quintals per acre with an average about nine quintals, risking shortages for 1894 1895 and advising manufacturers to secure seed early.

Loveland girls visited as Greeley captured a decisive 15 to 0 victory. Captain Lois Wright led the successful Greeley effort while both games drew strong student enthusiasm. In Boulder, Greeley boys beat Boulder Preparatory 34 to 27 after trailing at halftime. Mrs. Viola Potter visited Denver briefly.

Land sale in Weld county to Chicago investors for 97000
The Colonial Securities and Trust Company of Denver sold 25 000 acres across 36 square miles in Weld county near Carr station to John W. Smith and Henry Benedict for 97000. The land will host an experimental dry farming farm and extensive irrigation then be used for cereals especially durum wheat. The deal was arranged by John L. Donahue, president, with tenants allowed to start with machinery and crop-based payment.

Engineer Hapgood Killed While Jumping From Engine
Engineer A H Hapgood of Denver leaped from the pilot of his engine at the Thirty fourth street crossing and was found dead an hour later. His body was mutilated with trains passing over it, and the death remains a mystery. Fireman W J was with him earlier aiding in the move from Julesburg.

Factory Stops Slicing Sugar Beets at Greeley Plant
The Greeley sugar factory ended its beet slicing campaign last night with indications at 6 PM. The season began Sept 14 1906 and faced delays due to weather and beet supply. About 97 700 tons have been sliced with much molasses and juice awaiting processing. some beets were sent to Windsor and Fort Collins, potentially reaching 112 000 tons.
