Greeley Boosters Organize After Big Chicken Supper
Greeley business leaders gathered last Wednesday for a chicken pie supper at the Unitarian church and launched the Greeley Commercial Club with 101 members and 650 dollars. The group elected officers, drafted by laws modeled on the Kansas City club, and pledged support for railway freight rate reform aided by Denver speaker George Kindel.

Berger Dead in Livery Stable Tragedy
The lifeless body of George B. Berger a noted blacksmith was found in a back stall of the Asmus son livery stable last Thursday afternoon. An empty bottle marked chloroform lay beside him. Coroner Macy found death by his own hand with no other cause. The drug was purchased around noon the same day. Friends cite possible thought of total blindness after losing one eye and fear of losing the other as the motive. He leaves a wife and two daughters Florence Miller of Greeley and Edna Phillips of Eaton. Born in Pennsylvania April 17 1848 he moved to Iowa City as a boy and later to Greeley in 1888 where he worked as a blacksmith. Funeral services were Sunday at the Methodist church under Woodmen of the World."
