Dr Z X Snyder heads a State Normal school meeting outlining that all subjects grow from life and enrich it. He argues progress in travel lighting and industry shows education must adapt with time and teach living skills alongside reading writing and arithmetic.
A six year old trespass case in Denver federal court involving Warren Live Stock Company and private defendants over pasturing thousands of sheep on Weld county lands was dismissed by Judge Lewis. The suit claimed $6500 in damages and alleged erosion of company pastures by the Farrs and others. Defendants argued the company monopolized public domain and used force to secure pasture rights amid cross claims. The case drew statewide stockmen's interest.
County Clerk Charles Davis turned over the year 1906 surplus of 4847.35 to the county treasurer. The year saw 8380 instruments recorded and 211 marriage licenses issued.
The Northern District of Women of Woodcraft held a successful rally in Greeley with four grand officers in attendance and delegates from Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor, and others. Competitions produced a $75 banner for Greeley and a $20 prize for Eaton, followed by a banquet and speeches.

In a Friday smoking event by Modern Woodmen of America at Knights of Pythias Hall, the main boxing match between Jack Lavigne of Philadelphia and Kid Stonestreet of Fort Lupton was stopped after the second round by town authorities. About $500 wagered. promoters consider arranging a Denver rematch for February 22. Referee Kid Ward of Pueblo officiated. undercard bouts Cheely vs McConnell and Spike Hoglin vs Kid Hurley also drew interest.
The St. Margaret's Guild of Trinity church held a benefit party at the armory last Thursday evening. About 200 guests attended as the event was both socially and financially successful.
A Tribune report notes anearly optimistic outlook for building activities in Greeley with contractors and lumbermen predicting a strong year. Planned residences range from four to seven rooms with costs around 2500 to 5000 dollars, while commercial expansion includes a 14000 dollar two story brick building on Ninth Street and a twin 50 by 125 foot block.

The Greeley high school girls basketball team edged Agricultural College in Fort Collins 8 to 6 after a 6 all tie. Captain Lois Wright led the squad with teammates Frieda Taylor Mabel Woolf Mary Carter Ethel Weick Myrtle Eldridge. They travel to Fort Morgan Saturday night for another game.
Capt. Ogilvy trades LaSalle ranch for Senator Booth's Denver residence and moves his family to Denver to access better schools for their children.
