Suit Begun Against Union Pacific Over Train Death
Mrs. Nathan 8 B. Roberts filed a damages suit totaling 85000 against Union Pacific after her husband was killed by a passenger train near Ninth street depot on May 16 1905. Carpenter Townsend attorneys represent Roberts. The crash occurred as a gravel wagon was driven toward tracks when a freight train was cut for passage. Questions arise whether warning signals were given or heeded. The railroad offered settlements later rejected as insufficient. Evidence gathering continues ahead of trial.
