Knife swallowed by youth at Eckley Station shocker
A 19-year-old resident of Eckley Station near Vallejo Junction swallowed an open jackknife blade three inches long. He was taken to San Francisco for treatment as doctors devised buckwheat to coat the blade and aid passage. The incident, witnessed by W H Willey of Wells Fargo, was recounted with humor and seriousness amid medical caution. The youth recovered and planned to take the knife home. The Sacramento Record Union and New York Evangelist note further church revival calls at Trinity.
